Certified Israeli Combat Shooting Instructor – Rifle
ICS-Carolinas lead instructor Paul Ortman is one of a select group of affiliate instructors to earn both his semi-automatic pistol and rifle certifications under the Israeli Combat Shooting system from lead instructor Marty Cale.
In addition to his firearms training background, Mr. Ortman holds a Senior 2nd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and a 1st Degree Black Belt in Krav Maga. He is also the Co-Owner and Level 3 Instructor at Kinetic Taekwondo & Krav Maga, where he has spent many years teaching martial arts, self-defense, and personal protection.
Paul brings a practical, high-energy teaching style to every class, blending firearms training, movement, mindset, and defensive tactics into real-world application. His instruction emphasizes safety, confidence, accuracy, and the ability to perform effectively under stress.
Self-defense is a true passion for Paul, and he enjoys working with students of all experience levels — from first-time shooters to advanced practitioners seeking to sharpen their skills.
Range Safety Officer - Nicole Mullins
Nicole Mullins serves as the Range Safety Officer for Mr. Ortman’s training programs. She is highly proficient and brings over 20 years of experience in learning and teaching self-defense. A Sr. 4th-degree black belt in Taekwondo and is a level 4 instructor, Nicole is dedicated to empowering others through practical training, discipline, and confidence-building skills both on and off the range.
Ms. Mullins is also Co-Owner and Chief Instructor at Kinetic Taekwondo & Krav Maga in Fort Mill, SC.
